Why would “a situation that has little resonance outside Scotland and, arguably, outside Glasgow” now be of interest to anyone anywhere outside of Scotland and Glasgow simply because of a refusal to publish an advert?  Bit contradictory that!

“To be honest, the background is much more complicated. A fuller account can be found on a site called the offshore game.”  Indeed it is, that’s better.

“My understanding is” (but haven’t read it myself).  Not my fault guv’.

“I cannot see how this raises issues of press freedom because it was a purely commercial matter. It does not compromise the the paper’s commitment to impartial sports reporting because there is a strict boundary between decisions made by the advertising department and those taken as part of the editorial process.
PS: Personally, I might have reached a different decision, but that’s totally beside the point. GNM’s ad department has rules and it applied them.”
Was this my Greenslade’s real intention or am I giving him undeserved credit for highlighting the issue without the need to place an ad?

The article seems so un-Greenslade like.

As my moniker and avatar should testify I am Scottish, I was born in Scotland.

My mother was Irish as were her parents and all other ancestors as far back as I can find.

My father was born in Scotland as were his parents but his grandparents were Irish as were all his ancestors as far back as I can find.

Some say that makes me an Irish Scot; I don’t mind the label, I’m quite proud of my Irishness, in fact very proud.

But I’m a Scot and member of the human race as are we all, every variety.

My children are English, but that’s another story  22

I appreciate you have found Mr Russell very helpful and have no reason to contend that; I would accept that he is a very pleasurable fellow.

However, notwithstanding his lack of willingness to reveal the content of questions asked of UEFA, the very headline of his report alone exposed Mr Russell’s abjective intent towards the continued existence of Res12.

I see nothing untruthful in holding that opinion which is just that and not a statement of fact.

@STVGrant seems to be topical so as a follow-up to my partially tongue-in-cheek previous comment I would like to make it clear that, as never having met the man, I have no particular opinion on Grant Russell.

I do, however, have an opinion on his ‘questions and answers’; it was not just indecent it was a deliberate attempt to at the very least deflect attention from the honest questions of Res12.

In short, it was corrupt!

TD away all you like, I do not seek to be contentious or contemptuous but that is the truth of the matter.

You may be right, I do seem to remember there was something about club 1872 wanting to lend RIFC money…

I believe you are correct AJ.

At a meeting with Stewart Robertson last year Club 1872 asked:
A number of members have contacted us to ask that in the absence of knowing when a share issue will happen, would the Club be open to the idea of us investing on the same basis as the Three Bears, Dave King, etc?

…we just need to be assured that the same cannot happen again and those assurances need to be believable and need to come from the people still involved, both at SFA and Rangers.

I agree, however, with all the recent bluster from King, the UEFA Licence, TOP inaction, Res12 still to be resolved etc. etc. and the SFA/SPFL doing little more than paying lip service instead of dragging King in to explain himself, explain how RIFC/TRFC are arranging finance (as they did with Lambias iirc) then I am becoming increasing concerned that not only are plans in place to infact allow this to happen again but that it is now actually happening – again!.

As others have said, unless something happens soon then the game’s a goner.

Apologies for the little rant; maybe you just have much more patience than me 18

Every so often we get someone on here at odds with everybody else. At first the exchanges are good and sometimes interesting and some of the filed stuff being brought out reminds us of why we love this site. As time goes by it becomes tedious and I find myself speeding past these contributors.I’m afraid i have reached, indeed past, this point with Lawman2. My enjoyment of the site is greatly diminished I’m sad to say.

That’s a great comment.
I appreciate LM2, Nick etc. should be allowed opinion but their arguments are evermore circular; an obvious attempt to derail the true nature of the blog which is, in the main, to bring to an end corruption within our game.

In my opinion.
