Jean,

Don’t know what the problem was or why it came about (yet), but the PM service should be fixed now.

I think the backlash against Warburton has less to do with any antipathy towards the man himself and more directly concerned with the seer-like status which the MSM have afforded him.

Of course that has nothing to do with Warburton himself. I think he sees the game – as any manager would – through a prism in the shape of his own club. From that point of view he would I imagine seek a better outcome for Rangers.

The trouble is that the MSM tend to present his utterances as the words of the prophet – which as we all know are in truth written on the subway wall 🙂

Reiver,

With all due respect, I haven’t seen anyone either imply or explicitly claim anything as anti-Irish. I also don’t see any evidence of a strong Celtic flavour either.

There certainly has been a discussion about Celtic and the strength of their attachment to the ‘Old Firm’ brand, but that was started by an Aberdeen fan, and Celtic fans naturally weighed in with their take.

I suppose it’s all in the eye of the beholder, but I think – apart from the fact that we are in the middle of the holidays and consequently quiet – that we are being pretty true to our mission.

As I said though, it is all in the eye of the beholder, and your views are important to the rest of us. Can you point me in the direction of the problem – or even which posts are causing you concern? Particularly those which display intolerance

I apologise if I appear to be sensitive about this. That’s because I am sensitive to claims of Celtic-ness on this site. We are determined that this will not become a Celtic forum. It would be the easiest thing in the world to turn it into one – and if we did so, I imagine we would have page numbers commensurate with a Celtic site 🙁

However the main reason for our existence is not to build on our internet stats, but to build a community of football fans.

48% of our members and about 40% of our regular posters are Celtic fans. Despite that, we keep club specific stuff (where it is not relevant to the rest of us) off the pages.

I am worried that you appear to think we have failed.

Be surprised if the larger part of the loans is converted to shares.
Control of a structurally insolvent company lies not in virtually worthless shares, but with the major creditors who will retain control when the shareholders are all stiffed.
Going to happen.

Highlander,
Wasn’t aware that anyone had reproduced Concomitant’s article elsewhere. Nobody asked either, but it’s not a problem for us.
As we’ve said, it’s not a contest. 👍

So true about the sport being killed by the authorities.
No matter how corrupt RFC were, the sport could have survived the reputational damage imposed by a rogue club. Impossible to survive damage imposed by rogue governance.
