I’ve said before that there is no excuse for Kingco not having a plan ready to be executed, the second they got control at the EGM. That plan should have included the immediate appointment of a CEO, tasked with executing the plan, (building confidence in the new regime for benefit of AIM & City, should have been the number one priority.)

We used to say the engineer’s motto was “When in danger or in doubt, run in circles scream and shout” Looks like at least SOME members of ICAS have adopted it!

Purely for laughs, the Virtual Chairman has spoken:

“RANGERS interim Chairman Paul Murray has tonight released the following statement:

We tried everything within our power to have the suspension lifted but it was clear that we would have to pay a price for years of poor corporate governance and financial mismanagement since the IPO. The delisting is down solely to the actions and conduct of past regimes.
You could say the behaviour of previous directors has poisoned the well with AIM but even so we might have expected a little more understanding from certain quarters. However, I must point out that delisting will have no effect on our overall financial strategy.
The investments we expect will still be made and Rangers will be rebuilt on schedule. Be certain that this delisting, which is down entirely to the actions of previous Boards, will have no bearing on future investment.
Also, we are putting in place an extremely credible share-dealing facility which will enable shareholders to buy and sell their shares. I understand there will be some shareholders unhappy with this outcome but I am sure the vast majority of shareholders will be satisfied.
One of the platforms keen to take us is ISDX. This is an exchange that Rangers used to trade on and it is also a trading platform for Arsenal.
We will have a full platform set up by the end of May but have made arrangements to have a temporary facility operating by next Tuesday morning.
It is unfortunate our intended Nomad, who had confirmed to us that they cleared all of the individuals concerned as fit and proper, could not proceed after having conducted due diligence on the company but I want to stress again that this will not hinder our plans.”

Woe! Wow!

The avowedly pro Indy site Wings over Scotland has done some polling on Football. You can get the full SP on his site. but some interesting numbers on OFBA:

““The Offensive Behaviour (Football) Act 2012 bans the singing of sectarian songs in and around football matches, but some supporters claim it infringes their civil liberties, or that it was intended to victimise their club alone.

Do you support the Act, or do you think it should be abolished?”

Support the Act: 60%
Should be abolished: 14%
Don’t know/don’t care: 26%

Support the Act: 59%
Should be abolished: 29%
Don’t know/don’t care: 13%

Support the Act: 64%
Should be abolished: 25%
Don’t know/don’t care: 11%

Support the Act: 76%
Should be abolished: 10%
Don’t know/don’t care: 14%

Support the Act: 54%
Should be abolished: 8%
Don’t know/don’t care: 38%”

Usual health warnings around polls, but, nonetheless, definitely food for though there.

There probably is something to be learned from the English FA, just as there is from the Germans, French, etc.

I’m not sure how much of the difficulty lies with the rule book, and how much with the culture & quality of the personnel.

That said, the legal framework has changed dramatically over the last couple of decades, and many organisations need to update their rules to make them more Judge proof.

Anne Budge understands that competitors, can also be partners. What’s good for Hibs, can also be good for Hearts and vice versa. The SPFL should be run a cooperative model, rather than for the benefit of a few favoured sons. Its one of the few cases where the old saying “A rising tide floats all boats” is actually true.

Been caught up with the agony & the ecstasy elsewhere, any word on King’s FPP?

Perfectly respectable point of view. However, I suspect things like Armed Forces Day are here to stay. A lot of people in the military love their football, they do not by any means all support Rangers. So if there is going to be some sort of Armed Forces Day, then why not make it inclusive rather than exclusive?
Personally, I think the SFA saying to the military, if service personnel turn up on Cup Final Day in uniform we’ll let them in free, is a much better way for football as whole to mark an “Armed Forces Day”, rather than the perennial PR car crash waiting to happen at Ibrox.
I bet, (know) a lot of serving military types would be quietly delighted to see and an end to the purely Rangers day.

Tried to add:
How about the SFA holding an Armed Forces Day as part of Scottish Cup Final? A bit like the Lawn Tennis Association does at Wimbledon, thereby detoxifying the whole issue?

Possibly, do they use temporary seating for Forces day?

Problem with the stands at Ibrox you say?
“Nothing to see here” says the man on the level
What about that Section 89 Building warrant lodged with the Glasgow City council?
here’s the guidance notes for applying for a Section 89

“The plans should include the type of seats (if any)which are to be used….”
