BBC News ‘The Papers’ – “Journalists need to teach people to think critically – being forensic, dogged in the search for truth…”
Well that excludes a few stenographers then!

Who Is Conning Whom?
‘There are none so blind as those who will not see’.   Schadenfreude is a dish best served cold ….. and slowly.

Time for Scots Government to Take Bull by the Horns
I, and many others have said over the years that ‘the truth will out’ – eventually. While I’m sure many of us will have felt great relief that finally, at the highest level, there was no place to run for those who sought to justify the EBT model employed by Rangers (EL), nothing fights harder than a cornered rat that can’t even jump a sinking ship. The predictable majority SMSM response to the Supreme Court Ruling only deflects from the truth.  Put simply: You did WRONG. You KNEW you did WRONG. You knew you would BENEFIT from that WRONG. Following the SC Ruling, ‘WRONG’ here = ILLEGAL.
I was tempted to use the well known saying ‘for good men to remain silent … etc’ but decided that it would be wrong to devalue the context in which that is most often expressed.  We are talking about Sport not extermination.
The fact remains however, that great injustice has been done, not just to one team but to all teams which participated in the same league as Rangers (IL) during the EBT years, including not just those which lost out on European Competition money but possibly the process of promotion/demotion during those years.
More serious yet is, of course the damage done to the standing and integrity of the organisation of professional football in Scotland.  Time and again, over many years, the SFA has been shown up as a self-interested clique with biased priorities determined to maintain a ‘status quo’ with an arrogance which allows them to consider all supporters of all clubs bar one ‘infra dig’.
It is difficult to understand the apparent failure of all clubs except Celtic to challenge the illegal dominance of Rangers (IL) over so many years.  I am sure that the fans of Aberdeen and DUFC must feel the same. Is there some hidden code at work here or is the parapet just too high??
In the light of efforts to ‘clean up’ the financial/doping uncovered in other sports and the subsequent cancellation of titles, medals etc., is it too much to expect UEFA to launch an independent inquiry into the decisions of the SFA, SPFL, and behaviour of individuals like O, R and D, not to mention SDM?
The pious, fatuous utterances of those in SMSM and elsewhere controlled by whatever level of obeisance simply continue to devalue whatever fraction of integrity they may imagine they possess.
The Truth will out!

THAT Debate, and the Beauty of Hindsight
I bow to those with better knowledge in court matters but the last thing we want here is a mistrial for whatever reason.  I do not imagine, either , that any one individual or SFM wish to find themselves – even inadvertently – in contempt!
Remember, ignorance is no excuse!
My inclination at this stage would be to hold fire, speculation and wishful thinking and do nothing to prejudice proceedings.  Patience and ‘the long game’ must be the priorities.
Let the truth appear in due course!

THAT Debate, and the Beauty of Hindsight
WRT events at Ross County: probably my errant memory and Fair Play wishful thinking but – have there not been examples in Europe of players picking themselves off the floor after falling to tell the referee that there had been no contact ergo no penalty awarded? Has a manager ever told his player to miss a spot kick after an unjust award?

THAT Debate, and the Beauty of Hindsight
So we have Charlie ‘the Scottish Football specialist’ spouting about the Champions not having to work hard blah blah blah and Keysy showing himself up in true ignorance of the facts.  T’was ever thus – let’s remember who won the Coronation Cup, the achievements of the Dundee teams, Aberdeen, even a club which no longer exists…, not to mention Lisbon 1967.  There are many more recent examples of our clubs ‘punching above their weight’ (no pun intended with reference to Manchester …) at home and abroad.
For all the claims of the EPL being the best in the world, how many english (small ‘e’ due to the high proportion of imported foreign players) teams have won the Champions League since Sky started to pour insane amounts of money into clubs which simply overinflated the transfer market?  How many times has England won a major trophy in the same time frame? How many of these clubs are operating on a truly sustainable basis?
Scottish football is on a more realistic and sustainable footing now than for many a year.  SMSM as usual, has only one agenda – get Sevco back to prominence or we’re all *ucked!
Don’t let the SMSM b…..*s get you down.
The truth will out!
