Perfectly respectable point of view. However, I suspect things like Armed Forces Day are here to stay. A lot of people in the military love their football, they do not by any means all support Rangers. So if there is going to be some sort of Armed Forces Day, then why not make it inclusive rather than exclusive?
Personally, I think the SFA saying to the military, if service personnel turn up on Cup Final Day in uniform we’ll let them in free, is a much better way for football as whole to mark an “Armed Forces Day”, rather than the perennial PR car crash waiting to happen at Ibrox.
I bet, (know) a lot of serving military types would be quietly delighted to see and an end to the purely Rangers day.
YMMV

Tried to add:
How about the SFA holding an Armed Forces Day as part of Scottish Cup Final? A bit like the Lawn Tennis Association does at Wimbledon, thereby detoxifying the whole issue?

i very much doubt that MA will drop the judicial review. His reasons are both personal and business. However, I believe is principle aim is to undermine the foundations of the dual ownership rules.
As ever, the SFA’s pathological need to protect Rangers, blinded them to any long term consequences of ther actions. Those consequences may be very grave for European football.

More likely is the realisation that Ashley is quite capable of running up legal costs for RIFC in excess of £5million, and RIFC would still owe him £5Million at the end of it.
Given the nature of the Sports Direct deal, Rangers would, effectively,  be paying for both sides legal costs anyway01 Ashley is in a win/win position.
However, I would make a healthy wager that whether Ranger’s repay the loan or not, Ashley’s war on King will continue, mainly because King is too stupid to cease and desist from winding Ashley up. As King’s comments today about “SD working to an agenda” demonstrate.

I’m putting this one down as victory for common sense, not to mention a bolstering of the few remaining shreds of decency in UK PLC

It’s interesting that the Daily Record chose to publish the Ashley statement in full. I am sure the Man Child got a level 5 roasting for that one 01
Early days, but I think we are seeing the foundations being laid for a campaign to oust King. It is all too easy to see how this could be sold to the masses.
“King saved Ranger’s from the looters, and for that Ranger’s fans owe him much. He is also a very divisive figure, and, coupled with his ongoing legal issues, for the good of Rangers and Scottish Football  it’s time for Mr King to step down”
Jings, I may just have written Spiers’ next piece 01
