A recurring theme I notice from various media outlets is that Dave King ‘saved’ Rangers, and rid them of various fly-by-nights/charlatans/shysters (take your pick) from the boardroom. Firstly, the previous board had businessmen (the Easdales) who were willing to provide soft funding and who probably have a higher net worth than any of those from the current regime. There was also the presence of a real billionaire in Mike Ashley who was willing to provide secured funding. Ashley was the billionaire the SFA told to take a hike when he wanted to increase his stake. The manager of the time, Ally McCoist, had a pretty disastrous reign but was backed to the hilt financially given the level they were playing at.

Now that convicted criminal King is at the helm with the blessing of the SFA, he is joined in the boardroom by men who were involved in previous Rangers boards which were responsible for tens of millions in unpaid social taxes. Personally I struggle to see how the boardroom has been rid of any fly-by-nights/charlatans/shysters (take your pick). On the park King’s regime has overseen two disastrous Managerial appointments and the club continues to lose millions on an annual basis. They have been completely unable to attract a Manager of any standing and it is seriously doubtful if they could afford to even if one was willing to come.

So what did Dave King actually ‘save’ Rangers from? As far as I can see on and off the park they are in a far worse state than they were when he won power.

Wow! I know we are not meant to put much store on the thumbs up or down, but two people have given thumbs down to this post! Who on earth could find fault with a post respecting the dead from the Ibrox disaster?

A bit puzzled at the thumbs down myself A.J, but there’s nowt queerer than folk as they say!

On this day in 1971, the Ibrox disaster happened during a Rangers v Celtic game at Ibrox. 66 fans died in a crush. Some of us remember that day, some of us may even have been there, while some of us would not even be on this earth at the time.

We are all football fans. Nobody should go to a football match and never return home. Rest in Peace.

“If they move out of Hampden, the SFA are in danger of leaving themselves hostages to Rangers and Celtic,” said Queen’s Park president Alan Hutchison.

I am a Celtic shareholder and if it was up to me (which it is not), I would tell the SFA here and now that Celtic Park is unavailable for any future fixture.  However I know that will not happen, but I doubt there is anything they could do to force Celtic to allow them use of the stadium.

I am not a member of FF for JR Group, but I can see that a private company(or a private association of companies) can tell  enquirers into their affairs to feck off.

Therein lies the problem. I work for a private company, but it is answerable big style to its Government appointed Regulator. The SFA have no Regulator.  The media could easily take up the role and apply pressure that would have an effect, but clearly they would rather see the current stinking, some would say corrupt, state of affairs continue.

We do have one thing to thank King for. The surge in the rich variety of the English language being used by people all over Scotland is magnificent. Long may it continue.

As a Celtic fan I feel I have many things to thank him for. In fact, he truly is a gift that keeps on giving.

Glad to see Aberdeen winning tonight. Normally I would not bother unless a result one way or the other had a positive benefit for my team, however I believe a number of people feeling jilted tonight would have been hoping Aberdeen lost, and that includes a sizeable number of media people.

Barring a surprise from the Compliance Officer, it looks like the best hope is the Res. 12 cause supported by Celtic in the CAS.

Jimbo, the big fear is now they know they are free from the scrutiny of a court or indeed any scrutiny at all, they could now go the whole hog and bluff this one out as well ending with another ‘move on’ statement.

A mere layman like myself is in no position to disagree with opinion of Legal Counsel. Unfortunately it means to me the SFA can do anything, absolutely anything, and can never ever be held accountable to anyone.
