It may be that HMRC will appeal and we will have another year to two to draw the matter to a conclusion.

However if HMRC loose then I trust those who received loans have some money set aside just in case.

Is it not the case that they will have tax to pay for the loan which was a ‘benefit in kind’?

Also Oldco/The Murray Group need to ensure their tax affairs for PAYE and NI on the benefits are in order re the loans, as opposed to them being classed as wages. Can anyone recall if the appropriate taxes were paid for the EBT loan scheme.

Been on holiday so scan/lurking and trying to catch up.

As I understand it the Union of Fans appear to have said the King /Gough backed scheme is up the spout.

Yet we were told the following by Keef

Dave King insist he’ll not give up fight for Rangers until he has keys to Ibrox in his hands.. no matter the cost

Have I missed the follow up story on where King is, why he seems to be so silent and what is plans are next being he has yet to obtain the keys he so desired?

I also noted that the last of the high profile ‘Rangers men’, Souness, threw in his meaningless tuppence worth the other week.

As I said way back when, when will the Bears realize that while they may see themselves as a great institution, it is a mere figment of their imagination in this modern world. There are no real ‘Rangers men’ out there with enough cash to do anything. Guys like McColl and Brian Kennedy only have a passing sympathy for the state of things down Govan way and won’t part with any of their own cash. SDM didn’t really part with any of his own cash, it was all ducking & diving and robbing Peter to pay Paul stuff.

No one else from the business world is really interested in their fate unless they can take money out of Ibrox. Wallace’s exorbitant £315k salary with alleged 100% bonus makes him no better than any of the other Spivs who have passed up the marble staircase in recent years.

Letham looks like he is the latest line of guys with a spare bit of cash and ‘MUG’ tattooed on his forehead to be taken for a ride.

King was the fans last hope but he is hiding in Campbell Ogilvie’s cave.

So what now for the fans?

The Union of Fans are still asking people to pay into the Spivbank a game at a time, therefore the money is still going to…………….well the Spivbank and of course they still hold all the assets.

The only option for fans now is to not turn up and look to form a new club moulded in a fashion that suits their needs.
However the Spiv have played the game well and aided and abetted by the MSM and the football authorities have worked the con of just promising that financial and footballing nirvana is just around the corner.

It seems to me the addicts will just keep turning up hoping for that the next hit will be as good as that first one. However as we know chasing such dreams can often end up in disappointment and an altered state of reality can end up with you becoming a mere shadow of your former self, loosing all of your friends and your dignity.

Just another example of how a good number of people who appear to ‘have it all’ are greedy so and so’s and want even more. The reason they made their money is because they never ever give up a chance to take every opportunity going to add to their wealth or work a deal in their favour. The straight bat is alien to them. Even for a few quid they hate missing an opportunity to make or save money or feel that they might be getting done over.
My big favourite is the ones who employ and entrust what should be their most treasured possessions, their children, to illegally employ possible illegal immigrants on the black economy to save a few bob. I am sure many of these desperate folk do a sterling job with the child minding but in places like London their must be plenty of agencies with well qualified and vetted child care practitioners on their books.

Which is why one has to question any potential Mr Moneybags who says they want to plough money into T’Rangers. Unless they have a true connection to the club it is more than likely they want some form of return.

Even those latter day saints with connections to the club or local community like McCann, Farmer, Budge and even Messrs Wonga Letham & Easdales still want their investment returned or watched over very carefully.

The only person with T’Rangers supposedly at heart and alleged to have bag full of money appears to have sulked off to the southern hemisphere and taken up residency in that cave Campbell Ogilvie used when he wanted to disappear for a while.

Therefore I still can’t see how the sums down Govan way work out in terms of their supposed aims and ambitions with some folk still wanting a return and their cut, the CEO constantly reminding everyone about the need for austerity and little signs of major cost cutting.

Carfin Finest

I loved the line the Serbian FA gave in their defense in the last para.

I paraphrase ” Red Star need CL money to stay alive”

I wonder how the SFA will defend their approach to administering fair play?

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I note that there was similar sentiments in last night’s game where folks on the TV were beginning to worry about the prospect of the host nation being knocked out.

I appreciate what they were getting it in terms of maybe loosing some atmosphere etc however the tournament is surely bigger than any one nation, even the mighty Brazil.

I doubt there will be such concerns if Qatar go out at the group stage!!

The football authorities and the media are all geared up to see the big boys succeed and to hell with good honest sporting endeavour from smaller clubs and nations like Chile.

Indeed. And that was my other thought.
Even if Mark Allen does a good job T”Rangers wouldn’t see any cash for any upcoming talent (internal or bought in)  for a god number of years.
To date a good few lads showing talent have been allowed to leave to keep the lights on.
At present the only prospect they have is McRorie who I think has stepped up and performed well when asked. He certainly has confidence and could develop into a decent centre back playing with the likes of Souttar for Scotland.

I am sure the thought will have crossed other’s minds but will say it anyway.
Celtics ‘free money’ from the VVD  transfer is more than T’Rangers stated  loan requirements to keep the lights on for the next year or two.
Thats the size of the gap between Celtic and the rest of us.

Thought that may be the case but was wondering if someone would be trying to get ahead of the game.
