Of Assets and Liabilities

Much has been written on this blog, and previously on RangersTaxCase.com regarding the assets and liabilities of the former Rangers football club – however little has been done to look at the rest of the SPL and Scottish Football as a whole.  Was it just Rangers making ridiculous ‘asset’ valuations or is there other clubs in real danger of following RFC to the grave?

Before we get started a quick explanation on the figures.  They were all taken from the latest accounts as appearing on Duedil.com, so some are from 2010’s figures.  I have also ‘tidied’ them up a little so that they are easily understandable, removing things such as minor stock holdings.

The big story in the Rangers case was how over valued their ‘assets’ were, and especially the freehold property.  To remind you Rangers Balance sheet in 2010 was as below:

While on paper the net assets look very healthy, we all now know that the 130m of Fixed assets was in fact worth just 5.5m in the real world.  If we change that 130m to the real life figure their balance sheet would have looked like this…

So, how do the rest of the SPL compare?  This is a list of ‘fixed assets’ for each club as noted in their last accounts.

Predictably, Celtic lead the way, but a quick scout through the notes reveals the freehold properties are valued at 45m.  Dundee prop up the table, but with no freehold properties to their name, this is not so surprising.   One thing to note is the difference in value of the assets held by Aberdeen and Kilmarnock compared to clubs like Dundee Utd and St.Johnstone – this is important when we look at their balance sheets.

As you can see above, I have broken the balance sheet down into a few categories.  We have the fixed assets we just discussed, followed by the cash in bank.  Next is the debtors (money owed to the club within the next year) and then the creditors (money the club owes to others within the next year).  A crude calculation gives us the Net Current assets or liabilities.  A red number means that club owes more money in the next 12 months than they have in the bank, or are owed.

We then move on to long term creditors (money that is owed but not immediately – more than 1 year away) which will constitute loans from banks, or from shareholders.  In the case of Hearts, who have the highest amount of long term debt in the SPL, 98% of this debt is owed to the parent company UAB, controlled by Romanov.  This debt attracts a further 4.5% interest a year, while UAB also hold a floating charge over the clubs assets.

The final column gives us the Net assets or liabilities, taking into account the fixed assets of the company.  As we saw earlier, Rangers had posted Net assets of 70m, only achieved by their ridiculous freehold property valuation.  Are Hearts and Aberdeen doing the same?  In the case of Hearts they include in their fixed assets 159,000 worth of ‘Memorabilia’…  in addition to 15m of freehold property, while Aberdeen state in their accounts that the valuation of Pittodrie is a ‘rebuild’ value rather than a likely realistic sale price.

By declaring such high values on their balance sheets though, it produces a net asset figure, rather than a large liability that, in reality, is the case.  Kilmarnock and Hibs to a lesser extent would also see their figures turn red with asset valuations downgraded.

What is heartening to see though, is two clubs with net current assets, in St.Johnstone and Motherwell.  Saints were rescued from near bankruptcy in the 80’s by Geoff Brown and have lived within their means ever since.  Motherwell likewise have been in financial trouble in recent times, but the club appears to have stabilized and is now living within their means on and off the park.

If another insolvency event hits an SPL club, the MSM will blame it on the demise of Rangers.  What can be clearly seen here though is the damage was done years ago to clubs like Hearts, Dundee Utd and Aberdeen – it will be a battle to get back to the kind of financial position that clubs such as St.Johnstone currently enjoy.  However, the message that Saints are currently sending out is that its possible to have a competitive team without breaking the bank, as long as others aren’t artificially inflating wage demands.

The accounts I used to get the above figures are downloadable here:  I was unable to find for Inverness – if anyone can find please let me know and I can add them to the table.  When time permits I will extend this to include SFL clubs as well.

Aberdeen Celtic  | Dundee Utd | Hearts  | Hibs | Kilmarnock | Ross County | St.Mirren | St.Johnstone

Kenny, you do not have to hope that T’rangers win the Scottish cup to carry on the inquisition of the sevconian mindset, ask them why they did not play in Europe this year, they did finish second in the league after all.
There any more facts out there to why they are a NEW CLUB.

  2. OT but was in the pub lastnight where a couple of guys were singing & were really quite good when a guy sitting behind me shouted out ” sing simply the best” 🙁 now I know he’s not that big a fan of Tina & knew why he wanted it but it got me thinking is that still played at the tax dodgers stadium? If so why?
Sorry for drifting OT just wondering

No Shoehorning – I’ve not endorsed that nor would I suggest it. But Rangers being in a more advantageous position than they are now is perhaps an inevitable byproduct of league reconstruction. The question is really whether that is enough of a stick to beat it with to stop it from happening altogether. If/When Rangers return to the SPL and if, by that point, no efforts have been made at reconstruction, then it will not happen at all. We’ll still have an 11-1 vote needed and Rangers (or someone) will always ensure that it does not get passed.

I would personally suggest that the power get moved to one sole body looking after football that has the remit to take that sort of decision out of club’s hands at put it through regardless if it is for the benefit of the game as a whole.

that is a very interesting post and surprised no-one else has commented on it (equally surprised anyone gave it a TD…). First Minister meeting with Whyte and Russell is in itself no big news. However, as you say, we now know that Whyte was counting the days until admin therefore there is potentially a lot for the 3 amigos to discuss. Is it likely that the content of this meeting (i.e. the minutes) would be available via FoI request? Wonder if any journo’s would like to ask any of the interested parties (I know; rhetorical question)?

PS – good to see minty’s old mucker Grossart keeping up appearances too.

I have long thought that the pre-requisite to any successful re-construction, is to bring all the structures under one roof. That means clearing out the SFA is step one.

    Agrajag:

Try telling the Bears that their club doesn’t have titles to strip. The fans have carried over and see it as the same club and no amount of telling them otherwise will change that.

    ================================================

I have no intention of trying to tell them anything of the sort. They are perfectly entitled to believe what they want. I would not argue with a Buddhist who believes in reincarnation. i see no point in arguing with a football supporter who believes the same thing.

It has been demonstrated beyond any shadow of doubt that it is not only a new business but it is also a new club. The main stream media printing propaganda about it being a new “holding company” may give them some comfort but it is ultimately just bollocks. A “holding company” holds shares in another company. No such relationship ever existed. The company didn’t own shares in the club, it was the new form of the club. In any case the club didn’t have shares as a separate entity. If anything MIH was the holding company … of Rangers.

The club become the company became the PLC and was liquidated.

New Rangers are playing in the early stages of the Scottish Cup, not Livingston, New Rangers. So new Rangers were not one of the top 16 clubs in Scotland last year. Old Rangers were.

New Rangers had to have a licence transferred to them.

New Rangers had to apply to join the SFL, at the lowest level.

The bears can believe what they want, and good on them for supporting their club and turning out in numbers. Best of luck to them if they buy shares in the new business and support their club even further. But it doesn’t change the fact that it is a new company and a new club.

  8. There is to much talk of reconstruction. Why has reconstruction become paramount? It is for one reason only. Reconstruction, at this moment in time, is appeasement. You can dress it up whichever way .you want, but the vast majority of clear-thinking people see it for what it really is.

  9. Neepheid, I too am not missing the Glasgow Derby. I really hope never to meet them in any cup competition or to play them ever again for that matter. I once used the like the fixture when the game was not as corrupt as in last 4 years to help them to Champions league money merely to survive. I paid good money for me and my son to follow Celtic and saw some really strange decisions in that time.
There is however judging by the attendances at CP an element who must miss the fixture and did not take up the season book offer and will pick and choose the games they want to watch, the same fans who are running about now looking for tickets to watch Barcelona at CP.
Our supporters bus has lost a few fans, but these are the fans who tagged along with their friends during the Martin O’Neil era, the ones who used to frequent Cappielow when younger.

    Quick poll

Thumbs up Anyone who misses the Old firm spectacle ( Or whatever guise that would be now)
Thumbs down If you do not miss the fixture.

Will update the poll at midnight.

  10. I am listening to Tam McManus.I wonder if they will talk about the Derry City Scandal?

Last Derry City FC director walks
    Published Thursday, 12 November 2009
The last of Derry City Football Club’s directors has stepped down from his position in the wake of the player contract scandal.

Stephen McCarron has added his resignation to that of Chairman Pat McDaid and the three other board members following further talks on Thursday.

Last Saturday, the club was expelled from the League of Ireland over allegations players were issued with secondary unofficial contracts to get round pay regulations.

An FAI delegation is in the city to discuss the future of the Candystripes and to establish the extent of the cash-strapped outfit’s debt.

FAI Chief Executive John Delaney said it was important to them that Derry City play in the League next season.

“We’re working with all the stakeholders we’ve met so far today to ensure that Derry City Football Club are back in the League of Ireland,” he told UTV.

“My impression are, from the four different constituents we’ve met today, that going forward we will have Derry in the League of Ireland next season.

“We have a lot of work to do in-between, but I’d be surprised if it doesn’t come to pass.”

The Brandywell-based side owes thousands of pounds to Dungannon Swifts and its own players have not been paid for around eight weeks.

The debt is thought to run in the region of between £500,000 and £800,000.

I’m sure you are absolutely correct, however I really amn’t that fussed whether people in a Derbyshire town want to watch Celtic playing Rangers. I can’t even imagine why they would.

There may be a big derby in the league of Ireland, I don’t know what it is and I have certainly never watched it.

We are a footballing backwater and I would be astonished if there is any level of interest outside of Scotland worth talking about. Other than perhaps ex-pats, or people with family in Scotland who “follow” a team because their family do.

Scottish football is played in Scotland for Scottish supporters.

I think all the talk of the derby being a huge game, or one worth watching is again down to the media. They are rarely a spectacle in a footballing sense, and I am quite happy that they are not going on just now. It would be no loss to the World if the most recent one was the last one (see what I did there).

I know what DP was saying, now that it has been explained, however I still don’t think the phrase freak show was justified. maybe it’s just because I don’t really like the phrase itself.

Am I the only Celtic fan on here who quite positively is NOT missing the “old firm” games? The absence of Rangers (in whatever guise) has cleared the air and made the SPL a much improved league from every aspect.

    =========================

You are absolutely not the only one. I said as much in my last post, before I had read this. I genuinely think that the SPL has been a better place without them, in a number of ways.

If this is Armageddon I only wish it had happened sooner.

  13. Ref ; Danish pastry and Agrajag

” blue and green freak show” seems about right to me. If a Glasgow cup tie were ever televised because it had Celtic and rangers or if they get drawn together then the old “Old Firm” iconography will be drawn up, amidst all the crap about the “Glasgow giants” and the “greatest club game” will be trundled out for a September clash between Celtic and a rehash tribute outfit only fit for slaughter – and their players led by Mad Sally will attampt to inflict as mucj physical damage on the Celtic team as possible – the atmosphere will be uniquely hostile and the threat of real serious violence from the dispossessed and angry could not be ruled out.

As a Celtic fan i don’t miss the Rangers games – I would be delighted if no game ever took place between Celtic and this shower of unreconstructed fascist headbangers suppoting some half-wit cobbled together nonsense masquerading as a Football club, frankly.

Scottish football needs rid of Rangers. It somehow actually got rid of Rangers by some incredible set of circumstances then some halfwits re-invented them even uglier than before.

Without attaching too much importance to the fact that First Minister has met this or that individual at any given time ( Peter Lawell and Bishop Tartaglia have also ‘met’ the FM),
the real question is where the request for meetings comes from?

In the case of, for example, the Bishop of Paisley as he then was, it was at his request.

In the case of the Whyte meetings, and the meeting with PL,was it at FM’s request at a critical time?

  16. Iceman: What I don’t understand is where does this delusional myth that Scotland needs Rangers or “A Rangers” of some form come from!?
I know the media love to spout this nonsense but where does it originate from?
How can supposedly intelligent men like Salmond be taken in by this idiocy?
I genuinely believe that there are people in the corridors of power, influential Police leaders, Politicians etc who have insisted that Scotland needs Rangers of some kind to survive.
    But why?
The only answer I can see for this corruption and collusion, and I’m talking about outside of the Scottish football authorities, is that at least this way, the violent element with extreme views in Scottish society can be easily monitored and have an outlet.
The fear must be that without this outlet the criminal, potentially violent underclass will find a different outlet to vent their hatred.
Scotland’s authorities appear to have came to the conclusion that it is simply easier for them if there is an outlet for anti-Irish and anti-Catholicism that is practically a necessity for some people in Scotland.
Personally I don’t understand this distorted “logic”. I believe that pandering to and appeasing violent and potentially violent people has done nothing but give them a sense of superiority and entitlement, it has given them the believe that they are “untouchable” and that their often hateful views are legitimate opinions.

    ———————————-

Other than a short term gain, by getting money from the fans who really won’t be looking for any return, it really is just an emotion led donation (and their choice to make if they want) I don’t see it as an investment per se.

I think the same can be said for any club in Scotland, including Celtic. Any money earned is needed simply to keep the clubs afloat and operating, so I don’t see where any surplus for a return will come from.

Celtic made this clear a few years ago. Money earned by the club will stay in the club and will be used to operate the club. There will not be cash injections from outside, nor will there be payments out to shareholders.

The advantage Celtic have is that most of the shareholders either don’t want or don;t need any return. The fans have the shares because they want to own a part of their club. People like Dermot Desmond and Dennis O’Brian have the shares as a hobby, they do not expect any dividend on them.

Rangers’ main problem in this part is that there seem to be people who want something out. It really can only come from the money the fans put in.

  19. Not sure of this guys reliability but thought I would post to see if anyone else has heard something similar. Though not sure what assets he is talking about that may have been put out of reach as I thought Charlie had bought them all.

@PeterAdamSmith: Had interesting conversation with good source RE ‘gratuitous alienation’ in sale of OldCo at Ibrox. Source says “unlikely” but…

@PeterAdamSmith: A serious claim of ‘Gratuitous alienation’ more likely to concern the seller as opposed to the buyer. Source not convinced CW resting easy.

@PeterAdamSmith: Did seller put certain saleable assets beyond reach prior to administration and liquidation? CW could have questions to answer on that.

Well that’s that, I have now officially retired and all thanks to this blog! Right, enough moping…

Wee question for you all: what do Charles Green, Craig Whyte, Dave King and Andrew Ellis all have in common? That’s right they all own property and have investments in the Republic of South Africa. What a coincidence, eh?

What’s that I hear? You would like another coincidence? Well, okay, how about they have all at various times threatened to sue each other and other players in this farce but curiously not a single writ has been delivered. Ask your uncle Max (Clifford) about that little deflection trick…

Another coincidence? How about they were all in Switzerland this week?

As my grandson’s favourite comedian would say “what are the chances of that?”

I look forward to hearing more of Craig’s recordings because having invested in the technology why would he not use it on his wee trip to Switzerland.

  22. Very off topic, but it’s thus far a quiet Saturday.

I have been reflecting for a moment on the nom-de-plumes of posters on this blog.

We have previously briefly discussed how clever and witty some of the names are.

A lot of them plainly suggest which football club the owner has sympathies for.

Others, as my own was meant to be ( allowing for clumsy thumbs and too early pressing of keys) are clearly in tribute to current or former players, reflecting perhaps a link with the clubs that those players played for..

And others again are related to spheres not immediately connected to football.

But there is one that really intrigued me. It’s taken me a while, but I think I can now say with a fair degree of certainty, that it belongs to a Clyde FC supporter..

It’s a two word name, and involves replacing the first letter of one word with the first letter of the other and vice-versa.

I hope the user of the name will confirm that I have not spent precious minutes of my life only to get it wrong!

  23. Courtesy of the Thistle website. I particularly liked the bit about all clubs taking part in the 3rd round of the Scottish Cup taking a stand against both racism and sectarianism but I suspect some clubs will take less of a stand than others.

    ——————
    Friday 2nd November at 12:35

The 2012 Show Racism the Red Card annual Fortnight of Action made a stand against both racism and sectarianism. The campaign felt that it is vital to highlight the anti-sectarian message as well as the anti-racism message at this time, especially when recent incidents have once again highlighted the problem of sectarianism within our communities.

As part of their continued support for Show Racism the Red Card all SFA clubs involved in the William Hill Scottish Cup Competition 2012 / 2013 Round Three Fixtures will take a stand against both racism and sectarianism. We have developed the ways in which the clubs are able to take action to make sure the campaigns messages are as high profile and engaging as possible.

Show Racism the Red Card has received excellent support from football clubs, football authorities and football fans the length and breadth of Scotland and we would like to thank you for this. It has not been without its challenges though and we urge fans to continue to support the anti-racism and anti-sectarianism messages. We have heard of many instances where real supporters are proactive in promoting the anti-racism and anti-sectarianism messages in and around their club, making it clear that racist / sectarian fans are not welcome at their club.

The campaign will continue to speak to all football clubs, the football authorities and the police aiming to eradicate all forms of racist and sectarian behaviour.

The SFA and its clubs deplore all forms of racism and sectarianism and any racist or sectarian behaviour will not be tolerated at their fixtures.

This year the campaign has developed partnerships with local authorities to deliver educational workshops combined with football coaching sessions in a number of regions. The workshops are delivered by a dedicated team of ex-professional footballers and they are a very positive method of educating our young people about the negative impact racism and sectarianism have on Scottish society.

Here’s a brief outline of what took place during the Fortnight of Action this year:

Anti-racist / anti-sectarian football festivals and projects across Scotland.
Show Racism the Red Card actions at Clydesdale Bank Premier League, Scottish Football League, Scottish Women’s Premier League, Scottish Women’s Football League, and Scottish Cup 3rd round fixtures.
‘Unite Against Racism’ actions at UEFA Champions League fixtures.
Educational workshops in schools, community groups and at grassroots football clubs across Scotland.
Football is a sport that is followed by people across the world, and football matches should be an enjoyable experience for all, whatever their racial or religious background. We all have a part to play in stamping out racism and sectarianism in football and society.

If you see or hear racism or sectarianism at any level of football, please report it to stewards or police. Our website also includes updates on Fortnight of Action events and more information on the “Show Racism the Red Card” campaign in Scotland.

Yes, Stuart C absolutely wiped the floor with Jabba.

    What a contrast.

On the one hand, the babbling, almost incoherent and self-contradictory Jabba ( even my wife was astonished at him contradicting what he had said a few moments before about the prospectus and the names of the directors being known, once Stuart pulled him up about the nonsense he spouted.)

And on the other hand,, the powerful and insistent statement of facts put forward by SC.

    No contest.

And it’s appalling that we, the licence payers, let some little numpty of a producer inflict Jabba on us.

But then we let the BBC away with too much.

Afraid not, DP. I note from P&B that you fondly remember him, though. Shows the community efforts do work to some degree.

    “Danish Pastry, on 20 August 2012 – 13:57, said:
Back to Shawfield? That brought a bit of nostalga on. Was there in the Sixties to see Clyde, and dragged along to see dogs running too!

Always had a wee soft spot for Clyde as the player Dick State turned up in Dennistoun one summer at the old cricket pitch when I was about 9-10. I think he was doing some community work by running a kind of football school for us bored kids in the endless summer holidays. He was impressive. I had never seen or talked to a proper footballer! You never forget stuff like that.”

Despite some unfortunate comments I reckon Alistair Johnson may lead the charge for a new beginning. He comes across as a genuine sort of person
There`s nothing like living in the USA for bringing home the futility and immorality of discrimination on any basis. Working at senior level in IMG, AJ must be surrounded by people who are baffled by all the sectarian nonsense that dogged RFC and now Sevco
    Big people like big challenges
Replacing the worst elements of RFC`s history might be the sort of retirement mission AJ might find worth taking on.

  62. Anyone up for some wild preposterous piece of conspiratorial nonsense to pass a quiet Saturday? 😉

    Angst evident Tuesday evening on the blog that LH contrived to block liquidation re SFA membership transfer. Genuinely I couldn’t figure this or where from or why so later cast around my side for answers. I was surprised at the collation – that seems to dovetail fits – but not with LH in the slightest [no surprise]. Liquidation was predestined so they would know the History would go – unless in future years the liquidators and every single creditor agrees to transfer the oldco shell back which has as much chance as twopanda receiving a minor role in RTCs book and film to come – so was a reserve history protection planned? – looks so on feedback and evidence albeit circumstantial. Now what happened? – Let’s play;

I have a company and a company car plus a full driving license. Company goes bust but I form a new company with a car and carry on. Nowhere do I require to apply for a provisional or conditional licence before sitting the test again, – perhaps maybe if I crashed the car and failed a breathalyser but I didn’t. In short the transfer of the SFA license should have been straightforward, almost routine – barely newsworthy.

But timeline: SPL membership ended on July 4 and so did the SFA licence granted automatically on that SPL status. [Now they`ll say the transfer of the SPL share to Dundee didn’t happen till later but the SPL vote was conclusive and in reality – effective from that date – recorded in the minutes no doubt]

So the `transfer` of the SFA license became a little complicated as the SFA was faced with a club with no license to transfer and secondly invalidated by no accounts – to a new company that had not furnished the requisite financial information by July 4, – despite having `bought` the business and assets 3 weeks earlier from the Court Appointed administrators as a “going concern” doubtless providing said CoS administrators with evidence that they the new owners could provide the financial planning to support a “going concern” – “Gratuitous deniability” – golly what? – and despite being `granted` as much time to do it without further jeopardising the coming SPL seasons fixtures for a `Club 12`.

You see the SPL had given several deferments on the final vote to give them as much time as possible to get their act together on transferring SFA membership. Alas, the newco had several shall we say `demands` to be settled to their satisfaction. As such the 14.1 discretionary powers of the SFA Board would have to be tested to the very limit to achieve this `transfer` before July 4 never mind afterwards.

On July 13 SFL Division 3 welcomes them – but the new SFL status does not automatically grant SFA status. Two weeks later the SFA say they granted a `conditional` membership on 27 July and upgraded that a week later to full membership status on August 3. So a month had passed and the new company has not been in possession of a SFA licence. This is confirmed as they could not compete in the Markus Liebherr Cup Summer friendly tournament on July 14 with Arsenal and Southampton and replaced by Anderlecht. No SFA License – A fact I venture.

In the meantime they all horse-traded over the `demands` resulting in the 5-way agreement which was `announced` on the SFA website naming 4 Parties stating they’d reached agreement, despite legal and technical obstacles – except the details within that agreement are a secret and some are yet still contested.

Notwithstanding the above chicanery, the SFA Board has total discretionary powers in `transfers` and new membership applications. Did I Say `Board`? It would seem the SRA CEO has acquired almost plenipotentiary powers to grant a last minute `conditional` licence that allowed them to play Brechin the next day.

Now they can argue till the cows come home that all this legitimate but it would be interesting how that would play in Court if tested – viz. what was thought of secret agreements that may be breached now or in the future? PR can smooth this in the MSM but the facts remain. A legitimate transfer was impossible without a contract sealed agreement beyond dispute – evidenced now by on-going dispute.

But why does this matter? – this is just one infraction of dozens caused by belligerent parties forcing positions where the authorities were forced to make it up as they went along impelled by unguided and unrelenting pressure in the background. But could this be – another self-destruct own goal?

It would seem a `history` reserve that being via continuity of SFA association was planned – but now no more. – in fact the ire towards the SPL can be wholly / partly explained that CG and their supporters have messed this `would-be transfer` up by said `demands` and relentless belligerence to achieve said `demands` had overrun the generous time window to make what should have been an orderly transfer in end effect impossible. The `planners` must have been in despair at the reactionary operation at the time.

They had only one chance at this and it was blown forever by short-sighted show-boating to placate the audience and cheerleaders who expected to get their demands – come what may. CG/others “elephant never forgets” now continue to blame the SPL as scapegoat – and now perhaps can we guess why? 😉 [Any corrects to speculation loose strands most welcome guys!]

In my opinion, there is no way Johnston will lead a charge for a new beginning
What you refer to as unfortunate comments, only show that he buys into the myths and culture of the “peepil”

    Agreed.

When he came in I thought he might be the start of a solution. It turned out he was part of the problem.

The “surrender no” mentality, and the masonic “we are special” mindset was simply playing to the lowest common denominator element.

When that is coming from the very top it is hardly surprising that the rank and file support see it as acceptable behaviour. We are special, the rules don’t apply to us, and we will be looked after.

The thing is, those and such as those actually tried to do just that. It was only the real supporters of other clubs, and places like the RTC blog that stopped it happening.

  65. Very quiet tonight.
So I had wee look through the FIFA website rather than watch some rubbish that the wife was watching.

    Great the things you learn!
They have an Employee benefit scheme. ( I had a wee look to see what that might be, the words sounding somehow strangely familiar in some footballing context or other. …Just an ordinary pension scheme!.)

They spent ,last year, £89M US dollar- equivalent on Personnel. They still netted £691M.

And they set a good few million aside for development- which includes things like helping ‘poorer’ associations build up their football infrastructure, including funding astro-pitches.

There’s also a big global computerisation project, aimed at developing a super-duper player registration, nationality, age, medical treatment, transfer etc , system compatible with national association systems ( or maybe, to be introduced into all national association and confederation systems.

There is no Scotland representative on any of the many Committees, unless you count a gentleman whose name is in fact Blazer!

There is also no Scottish team involved in the Beach Football World Cup, which is now in its second day.

Sad, that, because there used to be a team here that ran up and down sand dunes. Wonder what happened to them?

There was a superb wee programme on radio 4 earlier today, about the 100,000 African American GIs in ( mostly) England and N’orn Ireland) during the 2nd World War.
