Why Me, Why Here, Why Now ?

Sandy’s Q&A looks like a very desperate attempt to position himself as a good guy before events accelerate and pleas of innocence become drowned out by the wailing and gnashing of teeth as many bears undergo brutal reality realignment. It stinks of Jack Irvine.

Hence Green is a baddie, Ashley is a baddie, King is an inactive baddie, my unnamed mates at Blue Pitch and Margarita are goodies. And of course, me and my brother are gooder than goodies.

The problem the Easdales have is that they are known names, known faces and can’t easily vacate the scene of the crime. They are the perfect patsies for the mystery spivs. The Easdales will be remembered for their role long after the English and other foreigners are vague memories. They may have entered with good or bad intentions – I’m really undecided on thhat – but they are in danger of being the face of the second Rangers liquidation forever. They will be spoken of with the same affection as Craig Whyte – another local patsy with feet of clay.

More Than £1 This Time

Has it occurred to the bears that Ashley might have learned from his experience renaming St James’s Park? I’d guess he’s unlikely to rename Ibrox himself – too much hassle and possible backlash against his brand and revenue. When things cool down he’ll probably try to find a bank, airline, media company etc to pony up a few £mill as BT did at Murrayfield. He may even donate a little back to the clumpany to soften the blow or sign a “generous” shirt sponsorship deal.

Pretzel Logic

Barry Ferguson shows why owners and directors at Ibrox must despair over the expectations of many fans and eventually regard them with disdain as spoiled children. Barry slags off Ashley for exploiting the situation by buying the naming rights for £1 saying he’ll never be forgiven, then threatens him if he dares exercise his legal right, then lectures him on the sacred nature of Ibrox, then welcomes Ashley to spend tens of millions to resurrect his beloved club. I wonder how long Ashley laughed at that petulant little outburst.

In Ashley’s position I’d be inclined to quote the venerable Andrew Mitchell MP (reportedly) to Barry; “Best you learn your f****g place”.

PS, Barry, I think Ashley has all he needs, a licence to print money from merchandise, he doesn’t need control of the club, responsibility for its spendaholic finances or the hassle of its delusional fans. All he needs if for some other mugs to keep the gravy train rolling and the bears buying the latest kit.

I wonder if Sports Direct’s move now to take full control of RR might in any way be linked to the risk of an arrestment today.

I think you are spot on. Ashley is reproted to have “helped” keep the lights on last week – so he probably has a good grasp of the finances. He would probably have prefered to keep schtum about the naming deal for now, but his hand has been forced by circumstances. Logic would suggest that Imran will be successful today, but something tells me “benefit of the doubt” will prevail and prolong the panto. I guess Ashley has too much at stake to trust to luck.

erm, moderation?

y4rmy – totally agree with your recently deleted comment – fancy a quick pint – and maybe a few slow ones ?

There is also no evidence of Rangers not having a plan,we just don’t know what it is,again we just cannot presume there is no plan.

I can !!!

Why We Need to Change
Ironically FFs attempt to create FUD around PMG’s output and rebuild King’s reputation as Messiah and doer of financial miracles has solicited a number of well reasoned responses on several topics from several contributors. Collectively they lay out the many mine fields between here and fully funded bear nirvana.

So FFs achievement is to clarify for any undecided ST buyer that it’s a choice between a blind faith gamble of £411 on the word of a tardy, absentee, convicted criminal or paying at the gate. As FF has advised several times “we need to wait and see”. I suggest potential ST buyers take his advice and keep their options open. There could be an Xmas treat in it for the kids.

So you are retracting “I believe all unsold shares can be bought by DK.” and acknowledging it is an extraordinaty claim or day dream
=======================================================================

No sir,all unsold shares can be bought by DK,it is a fact not an extraordinary claim.

=========================================================

So you know King’s resources are adequate to do so and/or he is minded to do so. Or are you saying “I believe all unsold shares can be bought by DK or any other current shareholder with the resources and will – because that’s how a rights issue works but no one has yet stated any intention to do so.”. In which case you are saying nothing of interest.
