With regard to the arrestement. Is the money arrested in an account held by TRFC or one held by RIFC.

I am assuming Ahmad’s claim is against TRFC as that is the organisation he would have set up the contracts for, or is it. So it would be an account held by that company.

Perhaps he has already been told that the “fit and proper person” status is a non starter.

He was a director of Rangers for a protracted period in the run up to it’s sale to a charlatan who was banned from being a director of a company in the UK, but did it anyway. A man who subsequently failed to pay around £14m in social taxes leading to the company’s administration and liquidation. A man who has lost a court case relating to over £20m he conned out of Ticketus.

King himself was convicted of 41 counts of tax fraud involving tens of millions of pounds. He pled guilty to it in a deal where he has agreed to pay those tens of millions back, rather than face 82 years in a South African prison.

How in the name of goodness could this man be described as “fit and proper”. It beggars belief that it is even a discussion point.

That makes sense to me.

The Court can “ring fence” money via an order. I don’t see how an auditor can, other than possibly via a threat of what they will put in their audit report should the client not agree. Mayhap an accountant can comment on that.

That’s my point Paul, it’s their money, surely they can spend it if they want.

Well other than the money which Ahmad arrests. That is still their money, they just can’t spend that. Even if they want to. The bank will have an arrestment order from the Court of Session and as I understand it will place that money into a suspense account until the order is lifted or Ahmad wins.

Don’t over react, it’s not like Celtic’s manager was physically assaulted by a Hearts supporter, in front of tens of thousands of fans, in a televised game, with loads of stewards and Police Officers about.

If you wish to castigate any SPL club for this fiasco you should castigate all.

So why are people saying Celtic, or anyone, should have done more than the rest. Should have spoken out more than the rest. Should have considered themselves a special case and should have “led” everyone else.

I’m quite happy for fans of other clubs to say what Celtic (and every other club) should have done, provided their own club has taken similar action.

I’m not happy for people to tell everyone else what their club should be doing when the club they support themselves is doing little or nothing.

Clubs should be acting as one, agreed, fans should be acting as one, agreed. However that is not achieved by Celtic speaking out more than the rest, that has exactly the opposite effect.

Really, I thought that you were blaming one person for the actions of your club. In particular when the vote against the new club getting straight into the SPL was an abstention. When the club decided on a cowards route.

I take it that everyone who supports Kilmarnock and everyone who is a shareholders abrogates any responsibility for the clubs actions. Other than Mr Johnstone, who decides everything.

One man makes all of the decisions, one man is the club.

You don’t see the analogy with Rangers, old and new. You don’t see the analogy with Hearts. You don’t see the similarities.

Again, fair enough, if you are happy with that situation, then that is a matter for you.

Can you provide some details of what statements the other clubs have made in relation to this issue. I’m interested in why you are having a pop at Celtic, rather than Hearts, Hibs, Ross County etc.

Can you also let me know how Celtic’s board can really do anything other than look after the best interests of the PLC and it’s shareholders, given that doing that is actually their legal obligation.

Celtic are no special case in either of these things btw. Celtic should not attempt to take a more prominent role than any other club.

Celtic’s board should comment on issues which effect Celtic, it’s shareholders and it’s fans (often the same thing). It is not only their obligation, but history tells us they would be publicly mauled if they were to do otherwise. It would be just what the MSM were looking for to take attention away from the actual issues and make it about a Celtic v Rangers rivalry. It isn’t, it’s about Rangers’ lying cheating and stealing and about the Scottish football authorities doing everything in their power to help both the old club and the new club.

Speaking as one of those fans /shareholders I am happy about how our board have played this. I know a lot of other Celtic fan’s disagree, however I can live with that. I also think that Henrik Larsson was our greatest ever player, that is far from being universally accepted.

I must add that I have never been a fan of my club leaving Scottish football but after seeing what has went on this year ,I believe staying in Scottish fluteball is now not an option .
