The statutory redundancy notice periods are:
at least 1 week’s notice if employed between 1 month and 2 years

Remind me how old the employing company is again? A week’s notice should just about cover up to 20 redundancies I reckon. The cost is another matter, of course.

(This depending on what the TUPE Regs have to say about continuity of employment, I guess.)

Reflections on Goalposts
From July 2011 (transfermarkt): “Rangers have had a £1.5m bid for Hearts left-back Lee Wallace accepted by the Edinburgh club. Two previous offers for Wallace of about £300,000 and then £1m for the 23-year-old Scotland international had been rejected by the Jam Tarts.”

So, according to the DR, Rangers think a couple of years in the bottom tiers of Scottish fitba has decreased Mr Wallace’s value only by £100K (after initially valuing him themselves, while he was playing for an SPL team, at £300K).

One struggles to believe that an offer of £900K did not involve someone from Forest losing his hand in a desperate snapping-off incident.

We haven’t seen any World records for a while … I’d have thought 900K for a Scottish third division player would have been lapped up. Quite apart from being about twice what the guy is now worth. Forest seem to have anticipated a game of “hardball” and given TRFC short shrift, which is very disrespectful of them when dealing with such a globally important Scottish 3rd Division club.

My opinion is that this story is designed to broadcast a signal that they don’t need the money. A dangerous bluff to play at this stage, you’d think.

The Ibrox management must be walking a very thin line, along which various things have to go their way in order for them not to fall off.

… I’m not Geronimo, as my username correctly states, I am his Cadillac.
Dear Sir,

Lacking an apostrophe and a wordspace, your username states nothing of the sort.

Yours faithfully,

Here we go again
There’s no way on earth that says anything about “fxnian cnts”.

“xxx fxckin organise ourselves, shouldnae be xxx” … though you can hear “havin’ a fxckin’ orgasm …” equally well.

Anybody hearing sectarianism in there is absolutely just hearing what they want to hear, though. And only on a Celtic-minded site would there be such in-depth discussion of it, with more than a hint of desperation for it to turn out badly for Sevco.

Interested to note that all pretence of being non-partisan has disappeared from this site.

Bad Money?
In the nicest possible way …

I haven't read posts on this site in any kind of detail for some months, so thought it may be informative to check in and see what fresh new Monitoring of Scottish Fitba was going on.

Imagine my surprise to find that it still definitely isn't a Celtic-facing site and, further, that most posts are still concerned with whether TRFC are a new club or not, with letters from "Angry of Tunbridge Wells" still being fired off to persons who will – without a shadow of a doubt – stamp them "Old Firm Fan" and file them appropriately.

Rangers / TRFC / King / Green / etc will not now be exposed for what they did, no matter how righteous the arguments otherwise. Get over it and move on with your life.

Or – please yourself – continue to strut and fret to an audience which has gradually excused itself, leaving only a mirror behind their vacated seats.

Accountability via Transparency.
McInnes's touchline ban for reacting to sectarian abuse.

Who is the winner in this situation? The reputation or integrity of the game? What exactly was McInnes punished for?

Remarkable that Celtic don't seem to be too bothered about the behaviour of a bigoted section of their fans that exclusively led to a victim of abuse being punished.

JPP: Perverting Justice?
B Rodgers: "And if we're talking about a neutral venue then it's certainly not neutral with Hearts having played part of their season there last year."

A true "neutral venue", of course, would have a Celtic End and a Rangers End.

It does seem as if Celtic are taking a leaf out of TRFC's book with the extensive greeting and outrage at their traditional advantage being removed this time round.

To Comply or not to Comply ?
Possibly, Ally, but only if such activity falls under the auspices of the Takeover Code. I don’t think it would be relevant to other members of the concert party – it’s King that the TOP are targetting.
I suspect it’s entirely because of this lack of effect on the wider situation that King has chosen to thumb his nose at the TOP.
I think the ‘red flag to others’ thing, which of course is entirely informal, may affect him more. But, to be honest, probably not that much.
