Comment on Reforming Scottish football – some initial questions by Itsagoal!.

From Duff & Phelps 24 August 2012 report:

“Two deferred transfer fees of £300,000 and £503,947 respectively are now overdue. The Joint Administrators are continuing to pursue the debtor football clubs in respect of payment of these amounts.”

tsk tsk – someone has not paid transfer fees owed to Old Rangers – who are these people? we the (taxpayers) creditors want our money back!

The comments by Murdo McLeod just before kick-off were a disgrace. he suggested that ‘Scottish football made the worst ever financial decision by not allowing The Rangers into the spl’ – its as if the last 8 months never happened! Murdo… why would not having a club that has financially HURT us all for the last 12years be a bad decision? does he understand the financial doping that took place? and as one of them finally said the fact that The Rangers are playing in Ramsdens cup and the early round of the Scottish cup and league cup – and all the 3rd division games is great financially for the SFL teams. Or is Murdo the Agent speaking here?????/

. That the ordinary taxpayer continues to contribute to this farce through the provision of government grants[to the SFA] makes a mockery out of a sham.

Spot on. Not only have we the taxpayer been shafted out of £100M+ by oldRangers – we are also funding, via the Scottish Government £10.4M every year, to the SFA! makes you weep

Salmond told Sir David Frost, in an interview to be broadcast on Frost over the World on Al Jazeera English: ‘Obviously HMRC have got to pursue, in the public interest, taxation.

‘Equally, they’ve got to have cognisance of the fact that we’re talking about a huge institution, part of the fabric of the Scottish nation, as well as Scottish football, and everybody realises that.

‘The most die-hard Celtic supporter understands that Celtic can’t prosper unless Rangers are there.

‘The rest of the clubs understand that as well. Therefore you have to have cognisance of these things when you’re pursuing public policy. ‘We’ve certainly been arguing to HMRC on one hand, and indeed to Rangers, to for goodness sake get a settlement, get a settlement and a structure over time whereby Rangers can continue because Rangers must continue for the future of Scottish football and for the fabric of the country.’

The Scottish news led today with the First Minister being taken to court by the Scottish Information Commissioner over his refusal to reveal an foi over eu membership.

Could the Information Commissioner be approached over the FMs phonecall to HMRC to ‘go easy’ on Rangers that he refuses to respond to an foi over??

Someone has kidnapped Hugh Keevins and replaced him with the Scottish Football Monitor

or maybe just maybe the media are starting to get worried that the big tax case and the SPL review will make their words over the last 6months lok very stupid and they are starting to hedge their bets??
