The moral of the Uli Hoeness / Dave King tax sagas seems to be that those who are found to have bypassed taxes on a mega scale only become penitent when the authorities back them into a corner and cut off all means of escape. If the only remaining strategy is a humble acceptance of a penalty, then that will be taken. Which argues all the more for HMRC to take a very robust approach to pursuing not just Rangers, but any of those who think that ‘only the little people pay taxes’.

I’m very intrigued to find out how Dave King’s season ticket scheme is intended to work. The simple way to achieve the end he purports to be suggesting would surely be just to pay at the gate – you may not get your same seat week on week, but for that sacrifice for one season, all the fans keep their cash in their pockets and have complete flexibility week on week. As we have seen this season with the quarter-season tickets, if things get sorted out and the fans were happy with the way things were going later in the season, the club could put out a deal for a half-season ticket or whatever, and the fans could buy them up. Meantime, they have maximum leverage individually, with no up front outlay of money.

Contrast and compare with what DK is offering…I look forward to finding out how his proposal will empower the Rangers fans more than ‘buy at the gate’, or if it will just empower DK.

Is it the one with all the signatures?

No, so it’s probably worth a bit more! It just has the venues

IMO scottish football supporters are being softened up for another whitewash

Scottish football fans are by now somewhere between a jelly and the contents of an egg in terms of how far we have been softened up.

To Comply or not to Comply ?
While Mr King fires off salvoes in all directions to try to bring down the house on everyone’s heads, are the takeover panel STILL trying to get their ducks in a row with regard to enforcing any action against him? The much-vaunted ‘cold shoulder’ seems to be so far just the tut-tutting of city chaps towards a seasoned chancer, nothing but a feeble bluster. What’s the saying? Never bulls*t a bullsh*tter.

To Comply or not to Comply ?
It’s the 23rd of May. Is there a specific date when the Takeover Panel are due to end their hibernation, or does it just depend on the weather?

To Comply or not to Comply ?
What chance does your average Ibroxian have in keeping up with Mr King and his financial ways when even the Takeover Panel, who are presumably not short on financial nous or knowledge of the ways of the wide boy, are made to look like naive, ineffective patsies? King seems to be the first recipient of the ‘Slightly Cool Shoulder’. If the outcome so far represents the best shots in the TOP’s armoury, he’s going to be with us for many years yet.
