My emailed letter

Would there be any value in future in some sort of communal response from SFM to this sort of garbage? That might carry more weight than my ravings.
Good effort there nh.
In the absence of a ‘correction’ in the DR, is it possible to complain to the Press Complaints folks [?] to force a retraction and apology ?

And yes, now that SFM has a “Park Gardens-esque” mansion house office 😉 mibbess the SMSM might mistake SFM for part of the establishment ? Well we know how lazy they are…

But seriously, this has to add some weight and credibility to the SFM cause ?
Not just a bunch of Internet Bampots, but an incorporated ‘movement’.

Not a ‘phantom’ website but an online community with physical premises / registered office.

Why not issue official press releases when deemed necessary ?
The SMSM might not give recognition, but they would probably read a release if only to learn about what is really going on in Scottish football.

Good job Tris/BP. Who gets the desk by the windae then ? 🙄

The recent fallout from the VW scandal might have some parallels with Sottish football, and perhaps puts things in perspective re: media compliance / political compliance.

If the claims against VW are upheld, IMO, it is truly astonishing that such a massive and reputable organisation could even contemplate deceiving regulators – and customers – on such a scale. It now seems that the EPA in the USA had the info as early as December 2014. Oh dear.

We know that the Scottish media, football governance and political establishment is complicit in trying to whitewash the whole RFC/TRFC saga, but it is still astonishing that e.g. the ‘same Rangers’ mantra continues to be observed, even though it makes those who spout such nonsense look ever more ludicrous.

Like the banking fallout, this VW story, IMO, is just further proof that big business cannot be trusted – and that the politicians are simply bought and paid for – e.g. via lobbyists – to look the other way.

The RFC/TRFC and (S)DM disgrace is just another example of unapologetic, crooked business practices in modern times.

No apologies or repentance forthcoming from Ibrox – just continued bullying to get their own way, and being confrontational to try to stay relevant or influential.

And that is why TRFC will always – IMO – be the pariahs of Scottish football.

Nice one ej.

Assuming that the document is legit…shirley this gives a ‘proper’ journalist an opportunity to at least ask a few probing questions of DK / TRFC / Level42 ?

Won’t hold my breath though.

Looks like there could be enough vagueness to allow Green to take this further ?

More confusion, as per the normal MO at Ibrox.

Several days behind with the site, but good to see a new blog and podcast still to listen to.

The only quick, pointless contribution I can think of;

Re: “About Big Pink…” and accompanying photo.

Do you have a dug to go with those shades BP ? 😎

…or are you a ‘Blues Brothers’ fan ?

I think we should be told. :irony:

Just a wild idea…

But, what if King declared himself bankrupt?
[Well in a court recently, he did claim he was ‘penniless’].

Of course anyone who knows of the glib and shameless one would assume King would have assets hidden, or in his wife’s name – a la wee Bazza?

Would bankruptcy effectively kill off the TOP sanctions?

At this point it seems that King’s reputation is ruined in Scotland – and with the bears and even with the SMSM?

King’s time is up playing charades as ‘the Rangers saviour’, and he must – you would think – be thinking about preserving his remaining wealth as he approaches retirement…?  09

Mibbees after 20 years of failure, the national team and the SFA don’t deserve a dedicated, national stadium?

And Hampden is simply not worth keeping as a football venue for mainly sentimental reasons, IMO.

CO, I think Phil’s scoop about the manner of Nicholl’s appointment deserves a: Wow Just Wow!
It displays how dysfunctional the management structure at Ibrox has become, and you would think, it is a massive red flag.
[Apart from having no cash.]

I also have my fingers and toes crossed that in 2018 my £20 bet on TRFC finishes bottom 6 comes in – with the help of an Admin. event.

[Thanks to fellow Bampots for the tip: interestingly Sky wouldn’t accept a £50 bet for a 150/1 long shot…]

All the best for 2018 Bampots!

And just have to add this headline from the esteemed DR, so it must be true;

“Bluenoses out of joint as Rangers pub to be turned into gay sauna’s bar”

Couldn’t possibly comment on the article…but a couple of sentences did jump out as sounding familiar;

“…Annie Millers was one of Glasgow’s most hardcore Rangers haunts and it was a real shock for a lot of fans when it closed last year.
A lot of drinkers were hoping that someone might rescue the pub so it could reopen as it was before. This definitely won’t happen now…

Guessing it’s quiet as the Bampots have been out watching the footy…or getting dragged around the shops by their better half for the sales ?!

Wife told me last night about the Dembele ‘sale’.
Immediate reaction was that it was nonsense from the SMSM.

There ‘could’ be some truth in it: e.g. an off-the-record tip from either CFC or Dembele’s agent, perhaps to simply instigate a bidding war ?

But, my initial reaction to any big story is to always doubt the SMSM’s veracity: the lamb munchers were exposed a long time ago…and it’s a surprise that the DR in particular is still on sale in hard copy format.

If he is sold for X millions, how will the SMSM / Level42 spin that as ‘bad news’ for CFC…and bad for Scottish football ?  22
