Quite sad, really, and a bigger insult to the memory of those who died than even the idiot bear who couldn’t stop his bile from being shouted out during the silence.
I realise there was talk of Celtic supporters breaking the silence, too, but, regrettable as it was, it was less of an insult than when it’s done by one’s own.

It looks like Bella Caledonia, one of Scotland’s independent online titles, is about to go bust. It’s not just the traditional media outlets that have financial problems.

If true then it is a real shame. I think the issue is trying too soon to finance the offering.I am led to believe that very few online news sites actually break even. Of late our own SFM site is asking for financial support and in the past the response from readers/members has been gratifying. SFM is a single issue site..it debates Scottish football from every aspect but is still a single issue site. I would say that this is it’s strength. I recall in the past an attempt to expand and diversify the site into a more holistic sporting monitor.I, amongst others, opposed this as a dilution and loss of focus. I have no idea of the age demographic of the monitor, perhaps this is where we are failing.Should we be reaching out and trying to attract a younger more active audience?and if so how ? Do official supporters clubs have any contact with SFM??It is disappointing that a single issue site with such a regular readership is still not able to finance itself from advertising and it is even more irritating that such a regular readership is unable to subscribe sufficiently , this truly highlights the dillema all online news/interest sites have. The paywall formula is a disaster and doesnt work, millenials have been fed free since the web was born and it will ever be thus. The future for SFM has to be a greater media footprint..more facebook, more twitter more podcasts more likes ,thumbs up etc. . Unfortunatley I am a luddite who couldn’t twatter or fudbook to make a difference but surely some of you out there know how to do this.Spread the word guys!

The board has been handicapped by wider share ownership….hmm not a turn of phrase I would have adopted but I agree with the broad sentiment of the post. Celtic plc majority are abusing their power to the detriment of….well no one if they believe that Resolution 12 is not in the best interests of the company. That, as you highlight BP is the crux of the matter. will they ‘fess up and admit such blasphemy . I sincerely hope they are forced to make such a declaration.

Rangers chairman Dave King is to appeal against a Court of Session ruling ordering him to make a share offer totalling around £11m.

Can anybody explain if this is feasible please? EG I always thought one had to ‘seek leave to appeal’ rather than it being an automatic right and further that the appeal must be on a substantive point of law regarding the original decision.

Thanks SMUGAS. I dont know if I would prefer to be creditor or increased shareholder with regard to this company. It looks from the latest at companies house as though the cards will have to be played shortly. All very interesting.

I seem to recall a moratorium on anyone ever..ever using the stadium as security for a loan. If/when the `soft loan` is converted to equity then is that not kind of the same thing only more wide reaching in its effect ?

Congratulations to Hearts and their fans who saved the club. They  deserved a result like this and achieved with youth given a chance. No excuses Celtic were never  allowed to play by a determined,  resolute and at times fluent opposition.

Who Is Conning Whom?
“I felt a tug on my arm”
Sinclair was fouled in the penalty box. He was pulled back..this is not fair contact in a contact sport it is a deliberate attempt to impede/obstruct prevent the player from scoring. It is true that players today exaggerate the effect of such contact but it doesn`t make that contact legal. It wasn`t shoulder to shoulder or fifty fifty it was a clumsy half retracted attempt to stop the players progress. I felt a touch of sympathy for the referee as he would be criticized either way by the pundits. “Oh..I’ve seen them given”..”He’s missed that one” etc. Once the penalty was given then the red card was inevitable as a goal scoring opportunity was denied by the illegal action of the defender who is getting off far too lightly here. He is no more a professional innocent than Sinclair and the outcome was a diminished spectacle for all viewers.
