Why We Need to Change
Shirley the fact that there were side letters stating that “you will get X amount” from the trust proves that these payments were not discretionary but contractual.
Actually, does the side letter not prove that they were not loans at all??
Dave King on 22nd May: “I don’t think I’ve ever said that. Treble or quadruple the current wage bill? For next season?
“I would expect to be fired from the board if I was so financially irresponsible. I’d be taken straight to the local sanitorium.”
Dave King on 25th March: “There are two income streams available to Rangers,” he said. “One is from the fans, the other is access to the European pot. Right now, Celtic own that pot.
“The only way we can access that revenue is to compete with Celtic. To do that, in our first year back (in the Premiership), we are going to have to treble our wage bill as a minimum. Depending on how Dermot Desmond responds, we may need to make it four times bigger.”
The hard part of being mendacious is remembering what lies you told previously! 😯

Saw a wee reference from @Scotzine last night about the Arveladze transfer many moons ago. It was for 4 x times the amount made public, apparently. Was oldco spending even more on wages & transfers than has been known about until now?
I have to say, I am most intrigued by this. Why on earth would the old Rangers claim that the transfer fee for Arveladze was a quarter of the actual fee paid?
What possible motivation could there be for this? I suspect there must be some underhand reason for this. Will our intrepid MSM investigate why this was? Will they …

You have absolutely hit the nail on the head there. The only minor modification I’d suggest is changing “possibly even the most senior administrator” to “most likely even the most senior administrator”

I see in an infamous Rangers fan forum that there is great delight in the rumour that HMRC have lost the UTTT decision.
if a decision has been made, do the parties get sight of this before publication? I remember that the Tribunals process (FTTT) does allow for the parties to have the result 7 days before public publication.
Given that the UTTT is a Court do the same rules apply?
I am not worried about the rumour – as it was rumoured that HMRC would win the FTTT and look how that turned out 🙂
There is a spoof account on twitter that is doing everything possible to spread rumours that the decision has been made already.
I seriously doubt that.
The account is @taxcaseresult but previously was Charles Green and then Brian Stockbridge. Keeps appearing on my timeline with no previous history
