Happy Loon here. 🙂

Rangers, of course, were unable to play their ‘trialists’ this afternoon and have crashed out of cup competition no 1. In a couple of weeks, they will be tasked with taking on Berwick in the second round of the Ramsden cup, again unable to play their ‘trialists’. What an opportunity for Berwick who, after last year, should not be fazed by playing at Ibrox.

I thought I heard Doncaster say on R Clyde that if Hearts went tinto liquidation the SPFL board would take a decision on what happened next should Hearts apply to rejoin a lower tier.

I thought “hang on you said that last year and it was the clubs not the SPL Board who decided.

Later I heard someone say that in the new SPFL the rule was it was the Board who would take such a decision.

So I’m thinking “So you no longer trust the clubs to reach the desired result and fear them reaching the just result.

Isn’t it the case Auldheid that the old SPL rule was that the board could decide but they chickened out and put the onus on the clubs? I think the SFL decision re admission was always via a vote of members (albeit the vote to admit at the highest level was unprecedented)

1 Was there a briefing from Media House of what constitutes pro ira songs, or songs of a sectarian nature

If yes,

2 why did the BBC consent to a briefing from Rangers on a matter which didn’t concern them and would be correctly construed by them as an attempt to damage another club

3 Who reported the alleged pro ira singing

4 was that person involved in the briefing with media house, or instructed by anyone involved in the briefing with media house

5 has media house ever briefed the BBC against any other Club or business on behalf of Rangers

6 what is the bbc guideline in relation to briefing by PR agents, and did the briefing by media house fall inside or outside of those guidelines

7 does the bbc react to negative pr briefings which are designed to damage competitors of the company paying the PR agent

I wonder how many of Barca’s questions could be asked and answered under FOI? Certainly 1, 5 & 6.

Let’s help them out.

“You changed the rules last year to accommodate Sevco when they lined up at Brechin with unregistered players”

How was that? Clear enough?

If 50% of the people have to take up the offer then how does that defend the position of small shareholders, which is the point of the rule as I understand it.

It’s not 50% of the people. It’s enough shares to take the concert parties holding to 50%+1. If they already have 35.5% or thereabouts, it’s less than 15% of all shares; about 24% of the shares out there that they don’t already hold. He will undoubtedly try to stiff Margarita/Blue whatsisname etc by trying to claim they can’t trade their shares, so that could end up in court again

Enough is enough
I’d like to see statistics regarding the ground covered by the various players last night. I lost count of the number of relatively tight TV shots where 3 or fewer Celtic players were ‘covered’ by 8 or more outfield Bayern players. They were everywhere

I wonder how DK’s legals satisfied themselves that they would get their fees? Is it the practice for QCs to ask for money up front? Or will King be able to claim on the ‘directors’ liability’ insurance cover?

John, I think PMG has blogged that he asked the RIFC board to cover his legal expenses and they said no. As for Director’s liability, I’m not sure it would cover this

Alisdair Lamont not at court today

Hopefully someone else will live tweet it. If I had known I might have gone down there myself, being unexpectedly at home
