John Clarke come in please, I’m all posted out.  As you can see if you have read back Alisdair Lamont was tweeting throughout the day.  And EJ gave us a great summary of the mornings events (including your rumbling tummy!).

But still looking forward to your observations from today.  Take your time now I know your not getting any younger and it probably takes you a wee while to fire up your PC. 22

My goodness just heard Kieran Tierney has just been given a new 6 year contract with Celtic!  I don’t know the last time I have heard of a six year contract!   Obviously delighted.  Several ways to look at it.  Is he going to be one of the dying breed of  One Club players?  If anyone might be I’d say he could be one.  On the other hand if he were hoping to achieve an historic 10 in a row and then move on, he would still only be about 24 or 25 with a couple of years still on his contract.  Big Big money transfer especially if he keeps improving.

Naegreetin,  Must be dinner time for the Jambos.  Here’s a few bits and bobs about Laszlo from Wiki:

He was appointed manager of Hearts July 2008.
“In his first season with Hearts, Laszlo guided the team to a third-place finish in the Scottish Premier League and qualification for the inaugural Europa League.[4] Laszlo was subsequently named ‘Manager of the Year’ by both the Scottish Football Writers’ Association and the Scottish Premier League itself. Surprisingly, László was sacked as Hearts manager on 29 January 2010.[4] Even though he was Hearts manager for only 18 months, László held the position longer than any other coach during Vladimir Romanov’s ownership of the club.[4] The Glasgow’s giants Celtic and Rangers were defeated several times in the league and the cup during his reign as Hearts boss. László Csaba was linked with the job of Scotland’s national coach to replace George Burley.”

I’ve been thinking about the first game for the opening of the new main stand at Tynecastle.  Obviously as a Celtic supporter I wish it was us.  A friendly, charity match.  As Scottish Champions it would be deserved.  However I suspect I am on my own on this one.

So what about a friendly, charity match with Hibs? Under 23s.  I suppose that might get the support of all you Edinbugers.  (Me too if I’m honest!)

Cant wait, I don’t like all our money going into rugby.  0711

Dom16,  Was thinking about Christmas decorations today.  I took mine down.  Most neighbours have done the same.  Nowadays with the huge build up to Christmas from November we are ready to put it behind earlier than in the past.  It used to be customary to keep decorations up until 5 Jan. ‘Epiphany Eve’ or ‘twelfth night’.  It’s good to see them go up but good to see them put away for another year!
(Merry Christmas).

Historical / hysterical January transfers:
Jean-Alain Boumsong (Rangers to Newcastle £8m, 2005)
This was a strange signing on many levels, with Newcastle paying Rangers £8m for Boumsong’s services just a few months after he’d been available on a free.

The Newcastle manager?  G. Souness! 21

(Think he received an EBT after it)

Just dawned on me it might be easier to just disable the thumb down button rather than introducing a LIKE button.

The thumbs down misuse mystifies me.  It happens often.  I wish we had a simple LIKE button with no dislike option.  You either vote for a post in a positive way or scroll past.  I know it would sacrifice the option of registering a strong disagreement in points of principle, but worth it I think.

It would take away the perverse satisfaction of these trolls.  Besides, our great posters are very able to counter any dubious posts with logical counter arguments. (Which can then be LIKED)
