The Case for a New SFA.
Reading neepheid’s letter to the Daily Record about a, ahem, factual inaccuracy in the article in the edition on 25th September 2015; the Daily Record’s response on 19th October 2015 referring to a “clarification over this point in our regular page 2 column on Saturday” and the Corrections And Complaints section of the Daily Record on, presumably, 17th October 2015 led me to think that this might not be such a little victory as it appears at first blush.

Am I alone in thinking that this helpful exchange opens the door to further inquiry?

On 13th June 2012 the same publication, in an article by someone called Jim Traynor (whatever happened to him?) published:
“Rangers FC as we know them are dead. It’s all over. They are about to shut down for ever…No matter how Charles Green attempts to dress it up, a newco equals a new club. When the CVA was thrown out Rangers as we know them died…”

It would be helpful if the Daily Record could be asked to confirm if these statements of fact are accurate or inaccurate.
If accurate written confirmation would be helpful.
If inaccurate confirmation of where and when the clarification was published would be equally helpful.

Similar enquiries could be directed to any and every other publication and news outlet in the country but given the Daily Record’s newfound spirit of glasnost it would seem to be as good a starting point as any.

The details of the events on Friday, even the non contentious ones, seem to be being reported in a Sevco Advent Calendar style.
I see tomorrow’s Sunday Mail has a photo gallery which includes the prosecutor, Jim Keegan QC.
An interesting choice and given that he is a Solicitor Advocate I take it he was the only person sitting at the sharp end of the Court who was not bewigged.
So far as the lack of clarity about what the Indictment actually charges the Accused (or Panels JC) with one can easily guesstimate how many copies of it are currently circulating and it is only a matter of time before it is put online, hopefully by COPFS, or otherwise.
Charlotte?

Talksport reporting that the word on Twitter is that Real Madrid have been unceremoniously booted out of the Copa del Rey for fielding a (one) ineligible player.
Where’s Senor Bryson when you need him?

So four days after the votes were cast we have the results.
All ten resolutions received Nay votes from over a quarter of those voting.
Not being versed in statistics can anyone help me with identifying where the corresponding over a quarter naysaying is in the press, radio, television and supporters groups?

Methinks Tom English’s throwaway tweet about “pockets of fans” may come back to haunt him.
Unwittingly he has focused on why this matters.
Fans’ pockets have been picked over a period of years and they are now being told to just forget it.
To further mix metaphors Mr English is going to find out soon enough that as adherents to Sir David and Mr King have found out some pockets are deeper than others.

On the basis that you cannot expect others to engage in a Truth and Reconciliation process if you don’t engage yourself I have to ‘fess up
On 5th November I posted; referred to Helicopter Sunday and I stated that in their game against Hibernian with the exception of Shota Arveladze the starting lineup for Rangers were all EBT beneficiaries.
This I now know is not the truth.
I’m sorry. I can only ask for forgiveness.
I based my post on the EBT lists which have been published but I accept that this is no reason far less an excuse for being factually incorrect.
Rereading the Commission Decision amid the morass of names I noted a name which had on first reading been no more significant than any of the many others.
The Decision refers to an EBT and side letter for Shota Arveladze.
So I have no compunction in accepting I was wrong.
The entire team that kicked off against Hibs had EBTs.
Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.
On the credit side of the ledger I now have a further 990,000 reasons why this is not going to go away.

I note what the Companies House position is but if, as you put it, the SPL changed its name and consumed the SFA teams it begs the question why the SPFL website’s Rules section has the preamble:
“The Scottish Professional League was formed on June 27, 2015 when The Scottish Football League and The Scottish Premier League merged to create a single body to govern the 42 league clubs in Scotland.”
As I read that the SFL and the SPL both disappeared and they opted to use the former’s existing company. Who know? Maybe if it had been Heads instead of Tails they’d have used the SFL company.
Either way thirty clubs had the square root of jack to do with Lord Nimmo Smith and are not bound by anything emanating therefrom.
