Think it is worth remarking on Hearts excellent start to the season. 12 points out of 12. After last season’s triumph the squad is clearly flying with confidence.

A lot of the MSM narrative both in Scotland and England is of the gulf between the divisions and of the inevitability of the teams that go up coming straight back down.

Whilst I would still put my fiver on both Celtic and the Dons finishing above Hearts over the course of a season they are clearly set to comfortably make the top six and perhaps press for Europe.

From where they were two years ago this is a fantastic achievement starting with the CVA.

I’m sure when I check today’s sports pages this fantastic achievement will be fulsomely recognised :irony:

My cap is doffed to the supporters and new management of Hearts.

Why We Need to Change
Picking up on the discussion regarding the strengths and weaknesses of the blog.

IMHO this is just about the most civilised level of debate I’ve found in an on line community (most certainly football community). Yes, occasionally there is a defensiveness amongst some in relation to their own club and this is what tends to lead to the occasional circular debate, but these generally don’t last long.

Partisanship does very strange things to some people. One of the most decent blokes I know is a Liverpool supporter but nobody can discuss footie with him without it degenerating into a pantomime.

The MSM is so ridiculously poor and is ripe for taking by a new entrant into the market such as SFM.

BP is right, the blog has its off days but if there is a friendlier and more open space out there for people to discuss and debate their passion then I’d like to see it.

Hibs defence doing their bit for season ticket sales 😀

To Comply or not to Comply ?
Slightly off topic but an interesting article from Roy Greenslade on the MSM and new media.

Posting this because it reminded me of why I like TSFM so much. A civilised forum for debating the issues of the day pertaining to  Scottish Football that embodies what we hoped new media would be when it came on the scene.  A fact driven antidote to the biases of the MSM where dissenting voices are heard without rancour.

Will be making the usual donation as it is fundraising time but wanting BP & Tris know that their efforts to keep this space sane and welcoming are truly appreciated.

To Comply or not to Comply ?

Think you might be right. I expect SG to get more out of the squad than recent managers and perhaps to have made shrewder acquisitions.

To Comply or not to Comply ?
It seems only a fortnight or so ago that Club 1872 were being instructed to specify just how much money they had to invest in the forthcoming share issue.

And yet unless I have missed it no announcement yet iro the share issue that is to raise £6m.  My understanding being that this was to have happened by the end of June as per public comments from DCK.

Yet, the summer transfer splurge continues (according to the MSM).

Contempt of court proceedings underway against the chairman of the  Holding Company!  How can this end well?

To Comply or not to Comply ?
The 8th of June!!!

Wasn’t it around that time that it was angry statement o’clock on an almost daily basis?
