I listen to SSB now simply for the entertainment value 🙂 especially if DJ and HK are in attendance, Gordon Dalziel and Roger Hannah are pretty funny too it’s like a trfc appreciation society. But the brilliant thing is that everything they say about trfc/mccoist/green/newco/oldco etc is sugar-coated tosh and the minute a caller challenges them the caller gets cut off or they go for a news break, an ad break, a travel report or they have ‘technical problems’ 🙂 the ‘show’ is sh!t but I love laughing at ‘buster blood-vessel DJ’ and HK who should really do himself a favour and do one 🙂

About 8 years ago I complained to SSB about the balderdash being spouted by Johnstone and Hately, who at the time were both employees, in some capacity or other, of Rangers. There nightly output was basically Rangers PR (not unlike most of the other media outlets at the time).

Hately was dropped not long after but Johnstone is still at the top of his game and must surely win the Thick IMBECILE of the year ward this year and I say that even though it’s only March!

It doesn’t need complicated goal line technology. A simple system could be implemented by two cameras and a PC to record and rewind the video. Stick a video referee in radio contact with the ref and hey presto. If you want to get fancy then give each manager three challenges like they do in tennis. When they’re used up then thats it.

@ Brenda
Yes and I am baffled at the shows producers decision to reappoint DJ. With the shows already bulging diedco employees what did they believe DJ would bring to the table.

Ps Danish, an excellent synopsis of the show 🙂

Exactly. An 8mm camera wired up to an old analogue tv coupled with a Betamax VCR could do the job. Save a fortune.

Just listened to excellent programme on Radio 4 about status quo bias. The essence of the prog. was that in order to challenge the weary mantra of maintaining the status quo you have to alter the status quo by presenting a vision of a fresh future which would serve to allay fears about throwing out the old.
This aligned with Henry Clarson’s excellent blog today about the nonsense of the need for a strong TRFC made my day.

There is no need for a strong Rangers. No need at all.A fresh vision would be a need for a strong football league.

We require visionaries to run our game.We don’t have them at present.

As I have been emptying my attic today in anticipation of insulation being fitted tomorrow I am in possession of all the above required equipment. Should I box them up and post them to the SFA ?
By the way and nothing to do with anything I plugged in my old record player too. What a great medium vinyl is. Sgt pepper doesn’t have a bad track either.

Me thinks David Longmuir has been reigned in by the clubs in the SFL he’s supposed to represent! the “move at their own pace” statement in relation to the restructuring sounds like a bit of a rebuke of his relationship with Rega(i)n and Doomcaster. Have the SFL clubs simply said to him ‘David we’ll decide not you and yer so called bigger pals!’

Also with the SPL Board not officially ‘accepting’ / appealing as yet the LNS report/findings coupled with the restructuring vote on the 15th April I can see a fair amount of plate spinning going on by the 3 amoebas (L,R,D) their relationships with their respective representative clubs bodies. I’m wondering if the delay in the SPL board ratifying or not the LNS decision could have any bearing on the ways that clubs might vote or not by simply abstaining/ vetoing until clarity over the LNS situation.

Seems like the obvious solution oldcourse. Tom English is a champion of this. It works for rugby and cricket, and I’m sure there’s someone at the SFA who’s heard of cricket.

On the goal line technology stuff there’s no need for any fancy Dan cameras in goal posts, etc -I would propose a ‘D’ inside the goal so that the ref and assistant ref (as they like to be called) can determine if a ‘goal’ is inside the ‘D’ or..erm…outside the ‘D’..don’t laugh that could catch on!

Re goal line technology…

The interpretation, as I understand things, of whether its a goal when it crosses the line or not, might be a bit different to what has hitherto been the case.

If the ball is heading towards the goal line (between the goalposts and below the crossbar) the game is in a state of being “not-a-goal”.
When the ball crosses that goal line as described, the game status does not cease to be “not-a-goal” immediately, and immediately become “a-goal”, but instead it falls into a category of being ‘liable to have its “not-a-goal” status revoked.
However, full revocation of its “not-a-goal” status must be applied at the time and during the course of play, and cannot be retrospectively applied, i.e. after a bit and having asked Blind Pe….er , I mean …. the able linesman what he saw.

So, even though the ball may be nestling nicely in the back of the net, the game status retains its “not-a-goal” Registration and is eligible as a “not-a-goal” game, albeit in a state of being ‘liable to have its “not-a-goal” status revoked.

Once full revocation takes place, then, and only then, is it “a-goal”.

Even though its as plain as the nose on yer face that its a goal.
🙂 🙂 🙂

Goal line technology?

Fill the area behind the goal line with loose sand or that muddy mess they use on Total Wipe Out for the sucker punch. (The kids like it and tha’s my excuse in first)

If ball goes in there it won’t come out, therefore its a GOALLLLLLL!!! 🙂

Have the sevco institutional investors been on the phone after the Annan result and Chico needs a moonbeam to allay their fears .
Where does this ,colt teams term come from would colt and cowboy team not be more appropriate with the sevco Dallas link up and the legacy the last COWBOYS that ran the deid club left for the rest of Scottish fluteball .

Is this an SDM Mark II scenario?

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

I think it is actually very close to home and is SDM Mk 1.
First cousins and interlinked in ways we don’t even know yet.

This whole story is and was never about football but about egos in business and (some of) the Scottish Financial Mafia and how they helped each other.
Football just allowed some of them to increase their public profiles cheaply.

Its a story still waiting to be pieced together
——————————————————————————————————–

It is comforting to know that the MSM will be piecing this story together as we speak, as we know their is plenty of material available concerning Mr Masterton and his cosy relationship with Mr Moonbeams, Rangers, MIH and millions of pounds (in loans) when all was not financially stable at Ibrox and the Murray empire in the glorious 90’s.

Not to mention where Mr Masterton purchased his metal for his Stadia adventure.

I wonder what paper will win the race with this story the record or the sun?

Mr Cummings has been rumbled and Mr Masterton as we know was his mentor, only time will tell.

Dunfermilne looks like suffering as a result of this dubious character. Maybe Mr Masterton will put his OWN money towards saving Dunfermilne?

More chance of the Sun or Record printing the above story did I here someone say. .

Maybe I will call SSB and ask DJ.

What a load of scaremongering nonsense.

Make it 12 12 10 10 so Rangers can get their promotion, and we will make the two new clubs … Celtic and Rangers.

If you don’t they will just go away and Scottish football will be dead.

I don’t see the comments from either club included anywhere.
